Reflexology Is an ancient natural healing art carried out by the Chinese and Egyptians as early as 2300 BC. It is based on the principle that the 7000 nerves and 26 bones of the feet form reflexes which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure point massage on these reflexes, Reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and the removal of toxins and promotes the natural function of the related body area.
It has proven highly successful over time to relieve symptoms or ease pain or discomfort, that have manifested themselves physically in the body as a result of stress trauma or disease. It is also a wonderful preventative therapy. This therapy is extremely relaxing and suitable for men, women and children of all ages.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GO FOR A TREATMENT ?
On your first visit there is a preliminary talk with the practitioner. The Reflexologist then begins to work on your feet, noting problem areas, there may be some discomfort in some places but it is fleeting and is an indication of congestion or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body. For most part the sensation is pleasant and soothing. A course of treatments vary depending on your body’s needs. After your first treatment or two your body may respond in a very definite way: you may have a feeling of well-being and relaxation; or you may feel lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is transitory. It is however vital information for your Reflexologist, as it shows how your body is responding to treatment.
