Why visit The Courtyard Centre?
The Courtyard Centre was founded by a family of 3 passionate Yogis with the intention of creating the highest quality Centre for true wellbeing. A Centre underpinned by Yogic principles that recognises the individual and a holistic approach to wellness, combining elements of Yoga, Meditation, and similar practices with holistic treatments, and that support a community of teachers, therapists, students and staff who feel a part of our family – that they belong here.
As a Yoga and wellbeing studio we have sought to honour both the history of classical yoga as well as its ever-changing landscape. We work with the best teachers who offer a broad range of authentic styles, so that people can find a class and teacher that suits them as well as an excellent course for beginners to provide a solid foundation to beginning a Yoga practice, with particular attention to alignment and modification of postures when appropriate for the individual. We hope that by offering this variety, everyone – regardless of age, size, gender, health challenges or fitness – can develop a practice that they enjoy and benefit from - both on a physical, mental and spiritual level..
We’ve created our centre to be a sanctuary away from the noise and bustle of the town centre; somewhere calm and tranquil, that can be a part of people’s everyday lives. We have 3 beautiful studios, 3 treatment rooms and a welcoming reception/ communal Cafe space.
beginners Courses and classes
Beginners are in safe hands at The Courtyard. Since we first opened our doors in 2013, hundreds of people have taken their first Yoga, Meditation, Pilates or Tai Chi class with us, and our teachers are experts at providing a safe and welcoming environment in which to start your practice.
Beginners Courses: A four or six week beginners course (or 10 weeks for Meditation) is the best way to begin or refresh your practice. All of our courses are taught by experienced teachers and you will learn in a supportive and stimulating environment. You will learn the basics of the postures, healthy alignment, breath awareness, meditation and relaxation.
Beginners Classes: Alternatively, you can get started with a class. All of our Level One and Open Level classes are suitable for beginners, and with over 15 to choose from every week, it’s easy to find one that suits you. View timetable

first time FAQs
Q. can I try one class before I commit?
A. yes, there are no joining fees. if you are interested in beginners courses we sometimes offer free tasters or hold open days. For classes you can choose from one of our introductory offers, pay-as-you go, class passes or memberships depending on how often you intend to come.
Q. how much is membership?
A. we recommend that you start with one of our intro offers, however we offer a number of pricing options depending on how often you plan to attend classes. You can view all of our pricing options here.
Q. do I need to book in advance?
A. we recommend booking classes in advance to guarantee your place, it also helps the teacher with room setup and means we could contact you should there be any last minute schedule changes (though this is extremely rare). It is up to you whether you pay in advance or you can pay at the studio before the class. All courses and events must be booked and paid for in advance.
Q. how do I book a class?
A. you can book your classes in whatever way works best for you – online (just click the SIGN UP button next to the class you want to book), on our mindbody App, over the phone (01767 319012), via email: email@example.com or text 07534 962048
Q. what do I need to bring/ wear?
A. you don’t need to bring anything as all mats and props are provided (although of course you can bring your own mat if you prefer). A bottle of water is optional or available to buy at our Cafe. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in and don’t eat a heavy meal before class
Q. where do I park?
A. you can park in St Andrews carpark opposite (next to UK fried chicken) this public car park is free after 5pm. Daytime mon - sat: first one hour is free and 2hours is £1, 3hours is £1.50. Alternatively you can park in Asda for 2hours free which is just round the corner from us.
